Genosuber Consortium

The GENOSUBER consortium was launched in 2013 to sequence and assemble the cork oak genome sequence, and included six Portuguese institutions:

 

The team also included Dr. Gerald Tuskan (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA) and Dr. Yves Van de Peer (Ghent University) as scientific consultants.

This project was funded by InAlentejo (ref. ALENT-07-0224-FEDER-001754) with the additional financial support of private sponsors: Corticeira Amorim (gold sponsor), Cork Supply (silver sponsor) and Caixa de Crédito Agrícola (bronze sponsor).
